He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, a reflection of his commitment to the highest standards of surgical expertise and safety.
Dr. Scioscia is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the South Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the South Carolina Dental Association.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for academic excellence. Dr. Scioscia went on to complete a comprehensive four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through Seton Hall University, School of Graduate Medical Education, and Jersey City Medical Center.
After his training, Dr. Scioscia served on active duty in the United States Army at Moncrief Army Community Hospital at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, from 1992 to 1996. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Major and received both the Army Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal for his outstanding service.
